The town I have come to call home is one that echoes two concepts resoundingly, glamor and loneliness. While the prospect of gain and glitz and the promise of a better life takes a lot of us travelers into distant shores, an empty void in the heart can remain. Anastasia, my protagonist, came to America as a foreigner. As our friendship and collaboration unfolded, the fabric of our conversation often seemed bound by the need to create an inner sanctum of withdrawal, imagination and privacy. Drawing from deeply personal stories and events that occurred in Anastasia's life, I took on the role of a fiction writer for this series.
